The 2017-18 UCLA Bruins men's basketball team represents the University of California, Los Angeles during the 2017-18 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Bruins are led by fifth-year head coach Steve Alford and play their home games at Pauley Pavilion as members in the Pac-12 Conference. At the start of the regular season, their first game was noted for the arrest of three of the university's players, including LaVar Ball's son LiAngelo, in China before an exhibition game against Georgia Tech, holding the players there for weeks, to the point where President Donald Trump would be involved with the situation. The players involved would be suspended indefinitely after their return to the university, with LiAngelo Ball eventually being pulled from the university on December 6, 2017.
